Why You Should Cast Your Vote for
Brian P. Ruiz...
He will represent you, not big business or special interests. Brian has taken no money from PACs or special interest groups
He believes government should spend responsibly, his family and your family have to balance your family budget and live within your means, so should Congress. Brian would support a Balanced Budget Amendment mandating that Congress work on a balanced budget.
He will seek alternative energy solutions for America. Brian has created a 10-point/10-year plan to end our dependence on fossil fuels and explore renewable energy sources.
He will work to strengthen our economy by helping out the Middle class and Main Street instead of Wall Street Executives.
He will bring the war in Iraq to a responsible end and bring our troops home. He believes it is time to refocus our military on Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups.
He will work towards affordable healthcare for everyone. Brian believes too many Americans have been left out when it comes to healthcare.
Please cast your vote for Brian P. Ruiz tomorrow!

District 31
John Carter (R)
Brian Ruiz (D)
Carter claims to be a conservative, but his defense of out-of-control earmarks and rules that shielded his corrupt pal Tom DeLay paint his true portrait: hack.

Austin Chronicle endorses Brian!!!
Dear Friends,
We have some exciting news, on Thursday, October 16th the Austin Chronicle endorsed Brian P. Ruiz as the best choice for District 31!
In the endorsement, they stated that Brian’s “opposition to the war and support for renewable energy, and for health care for all children, deserves your vote.”
Not only did the endorsement talk about how Brian will be the best representative for this District, but it also had some strong words for our current representative stating he is an "embarrassment to Austin and Texas" referencing his support of the Iraq War and his "questioning the patriotism of those who oppose it."
Unfortunately, the endorsement was left out of the print version of the Austin Chronicle. Not to worry, you can view it
online or you can pick up a copy of next week's Chronicle which will include the endorsement.
Sincerely,
April Shapley

I’m just too busy? CARTER’S SCHEDULE TOO “FULL” TO DISCUSS THE ISSUES
Congressman Carter refuses to discuss issues and debate Democratic nominee Brian P. Ruiz
Dear Friends,
On October 6th, in an open letter, I challenged my opponent, Congressman John Carter, to a public debate. The official Carter response? My “schedule is too full.” In this time of national crisis, Mr. Carter is just too busy to discuss the issues with you.
I’m disappointed. Mr. Carter has refused to debate in the past. But considering the current economic meltdown affecting every American, I feel that now, more than ever, we need to hear from our representatives on how they intend to lead us in the future. I would never be too busy to speak honestly and openly with you. I’d make the time; the citizens and their concerns will always be my number one priority!
Help support my campaign by making a donation. Your donation goes to ensuring that you get the kind of Congressman you deserve - one who is visible, accessible and accountable.
Sincerely,
Brian

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Today I look into my children’s eyes and wonder what type of world they will grow up in. I could sit back and focus on my family and hope everything else gets better on its own. Then, I remember my ch
ildhood and what I was taught, ”one person may not be able to change the world but one person can begin to bring people together and when people come together anything is possible”. I want to help bring change to our world that will make our neighborhoods, our country and our world a better place for our children, today and in the future.
Brian P. Ruiz
Democratic Nominee
